Last year I had the privilege of visiting Waru Wora Village in West Sumba, and it instantly became one of the most beautiful and memorable places I had ever seen. I returned again this year, and it was even more breathtaking — not just because of the stunning traditional houses, but because of the warmth, kindness, and generosity of the people who live there.

Unfortunately, a massive fire recently destroyed 28 traditional houses, leaving 139 people without a home. Entire families have lost everything — their houses, their cultural heritage, and the place where they built their lives for generations.

Everyone who knows Waru Wora is heartbroken to see the village in this condition. The community is strong and resilient, but right now they urgently need our support to start rebuilding.
