The enclosure is an essential part of the rehabilitation of collared hedgehogs recovering from accidents and for observing them before release. We need to ensure that each hedgehog can hunt, build a nest, and adjust to its natural environment. The enclosure is also crucial for our resident hedgehogs—those unlucky ones who will not return to the wild.

However, our previous enclosure was too small and built by us using makeshift methods, making it less secure. We needed better safety measures, such as deeply dug curbs and a sturdy mesh that hedgehogs couldn’t squeeze through.  

That’s why it’s time to renovate and expand our hedgehog kingdom!

Thanks to the Folding System, the first stage of this work is already complete. Now, we can sleep soundly, without fear that something will happen to the hedgehogs. 

On the newly refreshed paddock, Dupcia (her name in English would be something like Bum 😊) is already enjoying herself! Due to an injury (guess which part of the body! 🤣), she had muscle atrophy, so we need to get her back in shape!

Another hedgehog, Hłaska, is full of energy and can’t stand staying in a temporary container—moreover, she’ll soon have eye surgery. And then there’s Zębuszka, our permanent resident who, due to having no teeth, will stay with us forever.

Regrettably, our funds have been exhausted, preventing any further expansion. 

We are facing enormous expenses related to our premises on Miłoszycka Street and the renovation of the sewage system. Without your support, we cannot move forward.

Meanwhile, hedgehogs are waiting their turn in containers—currently, dozens of hedgehogs require rehabilitation. We have to rotate them in and out of the enclosure because there’s simply not enough space otherwise. 

You might wonder, how many hedgehogs are we treating in total? Well, almost 200...

MISSION: to collect 18,000 zloty. 

For this money:

👉 we will build a smaller aviary with concrete curbs and security - for one of our residents

👉 we will build a larger rehabilitation aviary with protection 

So what? Will it work out?
