The Greek National Down Syndrome Tennis Team needs your support to take part in the World Tennis Championships in June

As none of our national team’s expenses are covered by any state organisation and all costs must be met by the athletes themselves, we are appealing to you, who have a strong sense of social responsibility.

This June, the Greek National Down Syndrome Tennis Team, under the newly established official federation, the Hellenic Special Sports Union (HSSU), a member of the official global organisation Special Union for Down Syndrome (SUDS), will proudly represent Greece at the World Championships to be held in Sofia, Bulgaria, from 13 to 19 June.

Our athletes have earned this opportunity through hard work, discipline and a deep love for the sport of tennis. Their participation means much more than a match or an accolade — it sends a powerful message of inclusion, equality, perseverance and the belief that sport belongs to everyone.

For these athletes, wearing the Greek colours and representing our country on the international stage is a lifelong dream. With your support, we can help make this dream a reality.

In order for the team to take part in the World Championships, significant costs need to be covered, such as:

• Airfares and transport

• Accommodation and meals

• Tournament entry fees

• Expenses for coaches and support staff

• Preparation and training programme

We are asking for your help so that our athletes can travel, compete and represent Greece with dignity and pride.
