Update - July 2025

After 23 June, Tattà's situation became more difficult: the diarrhoea episodes were frequent and debilitating, despite all the attempts made.

We stopped all treatment for leishmaniasis and concentrated exclusively on stabilising the intestine.

💊 The intestinal antibiotic (Bimixin) gave a first positive sign and since then a new phase has begun: only Hill's z/d hydrolysed diet, the only one allowed for at least 6 weeks.

In parallel, in the next few days we will do specific blood tests (TLI, folate, vitamin B12) to check the functionality of the pancreas.

📈 Tattà has been stable for 10 days now, he has regained his appetite, energy and balance.

On Monday we will meet a new vet to evaluate the resumption of treatment against leishmaniasis with the right approach, more gentle and personalised.

🎯 The battle is not over, but it is now possible to plan a cure again.

Unfortunately, Tattà continues to be sick. Too much diarrhoea. Part of the blood tests have arrived and they don't say there are liver and kidneys compromised.

Now : start an antibiotic? Do urine tests?

We don't know.

The vet doesn't know either.

From 03/06 we started Artennua , a supplement rather than a drug, based on a concentrated Artemisia Annua. We also support it with Turmeric.

So says the Vet. Bho....

.... will it work? Fingers crossed, toes crossed too.

🐾 UPDATE ON TATTY'S TREATMENT

After a sudden worsening, we had to stop the treatment with Glucantime due to suspected intoxication. Tattà is now in the 'detox' phase - drips, cuddles and plenty of rest - before starting a new, lighter treatment with Artemisia Annua. Medications, supplements and analyses continue to weigh on the budget, but every little help is a step towards recovery.

Tattà, with her sweetness and courage, continues to fight and smile. Even today he played, ate and dealt with the 'natural side effects' of the detox. 😅

LET'S HELP TATTÀ HEAL

Hi! I'm Manu, and this is my big dog Tattà: a very sweet, brave and always by my side.

Unfortunately, Tattà has tested positive for Leishmaniasis, a disease that requires extensive treatment. In addition, she is also dealing with cutaneous keratinosis, which makes her very delicate and full of excoriations on her skin.

We have already started the veterinary course, but in the coming months we expect

full diagnostic tests (blood, ultrasound, biopsy),

lengthy therapies with specific drugs and supplements,

antiparasitics that are essential for his immune system,

therapeutic grooming to avoid infections.

The estimate for the first 3 months is around 1,000 euros.

Right now I can't do it on my own: I'm also trying to rebuild my career, and the veterinary fees are too high. That is why I need your help.

I have decided to divide the goal into small steps, each one dedicated to a part of the care: once one has been reached, we move on to the next, to tackle the journey together.
