Description

Fundraising for the national Waldorf Alumni magazine

Presentation of the initiative:

This is the first national Waldorf Alumni magazine edited by current and alumni Waldorf students.

The current essence of our initiative can be captured in the moment, fueled by and infused with a spirituality that is not only personal, but also distinctively "Waldorf". Because it is about us, it makes our experiences and our feelings visible, it puts the reader in the mood of our events. For us, Waldorf is not just an educational institution, but a community of destiny whose life goes beyond the time spent in school.

It is a shared destiny that not only determines what each individual takes with him or her from school into life outside school, but also makes the members of this community of destiny responsible for not only developing themselves through their actions outside school, but also strengthening the community from which they once came.

Why are we asking for support?

We operate on a not-for-profit basis and we do not intend to change this in the future.

However, it has become clear to us that this initiative, including our other plans (podcast, audio magazine, international magazine), requires a full human resource, which we can only create at the level we have been at if we devote our full time, energy and attention (from the editorial and web development side at least) to it.

Livelihoods in the free intellectual and cultural fields are not guaranteed, they have to be created by the creators. Journal editors, writers and proofreaders have to find the resources to finance their work, since they put a lot of time and energy into the production of each issue.

We believe that there is an impulse in the pedagogical and social practice of Waldorf schools which would do the world good if it did not remain "inside" the schools but could appear "outside" them.

We do not think that this journal form alone can represent this impulse, but to create other platforms to do it in a demanding and high quality way, and to keep it accessible (free) to all, it is essential that the community comes together.

How can you support us?

In the spirit of the principle of many small things make a big difference, we have calculated that we would need a one-off contribution of 2500 HUF per family (including graduates, who count) per year to cover our annual budget, but of course we welcome donations above this amount.

We ask all those who feel the need for what we stand for to support our initiative. Not because this alone will change the world - just as no single 'fruit tree' will nourish all of humanity. But if we can provide spiritual nourishment and crutches, or spark an idea in one person, it is worth it.

Because the little things, the individual people and thoughts add up. And one day, in the distant future - but already in the present - they can become a healing impulse in society.
