Description

Hello my name is Carla and I have started to raise funds on behalf of an association of very few inhabitants of a hamlet in the municipality of Grignasco, Frazione Isella. An ancient rural settlement dating back to 1589, nestled in the Novara hills with its small but beautiful church of San Gaudenzio (1696), Isella was a community of shepherds and wine growers. During World War II, Isella made its small but important contribution to the Resistance, sheltering liberation troops. The small fountain in Isella's small square preserves the memory of this.

Now Isella is seeing its ancient and characteristic cobbled streets crumble.

The idea is therefore to create a footpath, a rural landscaped path with stations and rest areas with a breathtaking view of Valsesia, the greenest valley in Italy.

The citizens' association has already joined the PNRR to apply for funds from the European Community and the Piedmont Region, but these are funds on receipt: that is, the works must first be completed and paid for, and only then will they be reimbursed up to a maximum of 120,000 euro. Thanks to donations from individual citizens, a first part of the work has already begun, but another 40,000 euro is needed to finish the rest of the pedestrian ring that connects the entire hamlet.

It is planned to install a rose garden along the street, with posts dedicated to the themes of freedom (freedom to love, against violence against women, freedom of expression, freedom of worship, for peace, for the new generations) and rest and picnic areas.

Work must begin and be finished by October, otherwise the great opportunity to see a small jewel of the rural peasant renaissance resurrected will fade away.

Would you like to help us too with a little help?

The common good is what will always remain, with us and after us.

Thank you on behalf of the Sviluppo Isella association.
