Together, let’s fight against fibromyalgia
Fundraiser description:
I have been living with fibromyalgia since 2008, but it wasn’t until 2023 that I finally received an official diagnosis. Fibromyalgia is an invisible condition that is often difficult to diagnose, affecting many people in France. Unfortunately, it is still not recognised as a disability, which complicates care and treatment.
In addition to fibromyalgia, I suffer from several associated conditions that make my daily life even more difficult, such as:
- Carpal tunnel syndrome (pain and numbness in the hands and wrists).
- Irritable bowel syndrome (recurring digestive problems).
- Gynaecological problems such as HPV, pelvic pain, and other serious conditions.
- Hypersensitivity to noise, light, sunlight, car headlights, and even the television, which makes every daily activity difficult.
- Hearing and concentration difficulties, including forgetting words, struggling to find the right phrases, or even saying words without realising it, which can be extremely confusing.
- Loss of strength in the arms, hands and fingers, making simple movements difficult to perform.
- Memory problems and moments of forgetting tasks and events.
- Medication (Paracetamol, ibuprofen, tramadol, morphine, etc.) which only partially relieves the pain and causes serious side effects such as mood disorders, depression and a loss of connection with the outside world.
This has prevented me from enjoying life’s simple pleasures, and I haven’t been able to go on holiday since 2017. This invisible condition affects every aspect of my daily life.
