Description

Hello everyone!! Welcome to my fundraiser. https://www.curefip.com/

Those of you who know me will already know that I’m someone who takes in and rehomes animals, especially those most in need or who find it hardest to be adopted.

Beetlejuice is a kitten who has been with me since he was three days old, when I found him on a dirt track, with his little eyes closed and his umbilical cord still hanging. He had the strength to pull through, fed from a bottle every two hours, with a gentle tap on his tiny nose and kept warm in every way imaginable.

Last Saturday, 21 September 2024, he fell very ill and was hospitalised until Thursday, 26 September 2024, when he was discharged with a diagnosis of dry FIP and was almost given up for dead. I don’t even know how he got through that night, with us injecting him with subcutaneous fluids because he was dehydrating and raising his temperature with an electric heating mat. On Friday he was admitted again, this time into the capable hands of Vicky at the Maricel Clinic, a specialist in the care of kittens with FIP. He has started on the medication GS-441524 thanks to the WhatsApp group PIF Warriors and the Facebook group Peritonitis Infecciosa Felina ES, who managed to get me some emergency vials.

This fundraising campaign is to enable us to continue this 84-day treatment with the excellent brand CUREFIP https://www.curefip.com/

At home I have:

-Kora: my 11-year-old dog with hypothyroidism, adopted at six months old; she was the only black one in her litter and nobody wanted to adopt her, so she went through many foster homes that said she was too much for them.

-Neko: an 8-year-old kitten who came into our home from a litter of four; as he was the smallest and ugliest, nobody adopted him, so he stayed with us.

-Hades: a 7-year-old cat; I found him in a cat colony. When he was just a month old, he’d been attacked by a dog that broke his spine. He’s paralysed and has kidney problems, but he’s a happy cat.

-Batcat: a 6-year-old tomcat; I fell in love with him at an animal shelter and he came home with me.

-Bastet: a female cat whose age I don’t know. She was being fostered in a home and had just given birth; she fell from a balcony and was slightly injured, with a tilted head and a slight lack of coordination. They didn’t want to look after her any longer, so I took her and her kittens in, and when the kittens were adopted, I kept her.

-Tique: a 4-year-old cat I found in a drain; it took us three days to get her out and when we managed it, her tail and half an ear were necrotic, so she lost her tail and half an ear. I fostered her and nursed her back to health, and she’s now stayed with us forever.

-Beetlejuice: He was a 3-day-old kitten when I found him on 18 May 2023. He had a bump on his nose and his umbilical cord was still hanging. His sister was also found with a larger bump on her head; sadly, she only survived for two nights. Beetlejuice, however, pulled through with bottle feeds every two hours and showed great strength even then.

Thelma and Louise: Two sister kittens who are in foster care and will now stay at home because nobody wanted them as they are not very sociable.

Many thanks to everyone for your help and support!!

Silvia.
