The Patmos Athletics Club ‘STADION’ is a newly established amateur sports club focusing on track and field events. Our club was founded in 2022, but unofficially our coach, Babis Angelakopoulos, has been training the children since 2013. He coaches around 80 children aged 5–18. Unfortunately, on our island there is a lack of basic equipment and we do not even have a sports ground. Training takes place in a field. Our club takes part in all competitions, both at inter-club and national level, all year round! Furthermore, our club organises inter-club competitions every year in Patmos, involving clubs from across the Dodecanese. Since 2023, we have been organising the ‘Patmos Chorun’, a 5km and 10km road race in Chora, Patmos, as well as a children’s race. The event is a great success every year, with at least 200 athletes taking part, and it features on the calendar of the Hellenic Athletics Federation (SEGAS). Annual travel expenses are high in terms of transport, food and accommodation, as we travel to the surrounding islands and mainland Greece. The purchase of sports equipment and the organisation of our two sporting events also incur a considerable cost. We lack the financial resources to cover all of the above. Your support will be vital to our work, which is nothing less than promoting athletics among the youth of our small island and putting our island on the map worldwide!

Our association takes part in all competitions at both intercollegiate and national level, with trips organised throughout the year! Furthermore, our Association organises annual intercollegiate races in Patmos involving participants from all the Dodecanese islands. Since 2023, we have organised a race called the ‘Patmos Chorun’, which consists of a 5 km and 10 km city trail in the village of Chora on Patmos, as well as a children’s race. The event is a great success every year, with at least 200 athletes taking part, and is included in the calendar of the Hellenic Athletics Federation (SEGAS). The annual travel costs are high in terms of transport, food and accommodation, as we travel to the surrounding islands and mainland Greece. Purchasing sports equipment and organising our two sporting events also incur significant expenses. For all the above reasons, we lack the necessary financial resources. Your help will be vital for our work, which is nothing less than the promotion of traditional sports to the young people of our small island and the promotion of our island around the world!
