La Luz - La Paz

La Luz - La Paz

Description

La Luz • La Paz

Light in the Mind. Peace in the Heart.

La Luz • La Paz is an independent civic, artistic, and humanitarian initiative created by Georgi Karamihaylov (Ogi Karam).

The project began after an incident that occurred on 29 September 2024 in Málaga, Spain, where I believe my fundamental rights were violated during an encounter with private security personnel. Since then, the initiative has evolved far beyond a single legal case into a broader effort promoting transparency, respectful communication, mediation, and peaceful conflict resolution.

Rather than focusing on confrontation, the project seeks to demonstrate how difficult experiences can become opportunities for dialogue, institutional learning, and positive social change.

Our Mission

La Luz • La Paz aims to:

  • promote peaceful conflict resolution through communication and mediation;
  • encourage transparency, accountability and procedural fairness;
  • support the protection of human dignity and fundamental rights;
  • document events carefully through evidence-based analysis;
  • build bridges between citizens, institutions and cultures;
  • inspire constructive dialogue instead of polarization.

The Case

The Málaga case serves as the project’s practical foundation.

Throughout the process, I have documented the available evidence, including video recordings, legal analyses, mediation proposals, diplomatic correspondence and formal complaints submitted to various public institutions. These materials have been prepared in several languages to encourage transparency and facilitate independent review.

The purpose of publishing these documents is not to attack individuals or institutions, but to invite objective examination, accountability where appropriate, and dialogue aimed at preventing similar situations in the future.

Mediation Before Confrontation

From the very beginning, mediation has been my preferred approach.

As a registered mediator with the Bulgarian Ministry of Justice and a long-time practitioner of Aikido, I repeatedly proposed mediation before, during and after the legal proceedings. Multiple mediation proposals were submitted to the parties involved as an alternative to prolonged conflict.

This commitment reflects one of the project’s central beliefs:

Peace is strongest when dialogue is given a genuine opportunity.

Beyond the Case

La Luz • La Paz is also a creative platform.

Alongside documenting the case, the project includes artistic work, photography, writing, public speaking, educational initiatives and the development of The Bridgekeeper, a book exploring communication, responsibility, reconciliation and the invisible bridges that connect people.

The project also presents symbolic artworks whose proceeds help support the continued documentation and development of this initiative.
