Dear Angels.

My name is Rita Fehér Buczkóné and I am the Chair of the Tattooed Angels for Old Dogs Foundation.

I am organising this fundraising campaign because our Foundation is in a very difficult situation. In 2025, to our great delight, we managed to purchase a 1.5-hectare plot of land with a small farm building on the border between Tiszaföldvár and Cibakháza, where we wanted to establish the Angelic Dog Kingdom: Home for Elderly Dogs and Rehabilitation Centre.

On the one hand, this would be a hospice home for the dogs over 10 years old that we have rescued; on the other hand, it would serve as a temporary home for those fearful or fear-aggressive dogs who come to me for rehabilitation.

Unfortunately, however, a terrible tragedy has befallen our Foundation. Around Christmas, we arrived at the site to find that all the rooms in the farm building had been broken into and ransacked by ‘subsistence criminals’.

It’s true that we didn’t yet have any high-value items there that we’d purchased with the Foundation’s funds. But we had taken a huge amount of useful items donated by you there, so that they would be to hand during the renovation and construction work. This would have been a huge help to us, as paint, building materials and wire mesh may all seem like small things, but if we’d had to buy them ourselves, it would have been a huge burden for us.

Fortunately, a fairy godmother came along who helped us buy a farmstead of a similar size in Csengőd (the sale is still ongoing, but we’ll be wrapping it up soon). However, this does not mean that we received a farm worth 34,000,000 HUF + 6,000,000 HUF for setting up just for the sake of our two beautiful eyes.... We have to pay all of this back.

Unfortunately, we cannot sell the Tiszaföldvár-Cibakházi property for as much as we paid for it, so we have incurred a loss of 6,000,000 HUF there too.

2025 was not our year. Due to administrative issues, although we would have been eligible to collect the 1% tax, our registration was unfortunately not accepted, so we missed out on this opportunity as well.

We would need a monthly donation of 1,000,000 HUF (2,732 EUR) in order to:

• be able to pay the monthly 200,000 HUF to our Fairy Godmother
• ensure our dogs are fed safely
• ensure our dogs receive proper medical care in the event of illness or injury
• we can provide our dogs with their annual compulsory vaccinations and protection against external and internal parasites
• medicines and special food for our sick dogs
• we can pay the monthly rent of 100,000 HUF for the two office containers, which we would also like to purchase (2,000,000 HUF each)
• we can develop the site to meet regulatory requirements
• we can build an escape-proof fence
• we can purchase kennels
• we can build exercise runs.

It is very unpleasant for us to constantly have to write posts asking for donations. We really do not like begging.

That is why we would like to find 1,000 ‘Angels’ who can help support my work with a monthly donation of at least 1,000 HUF / + EUR.

As well as running the Foundation, I look after 33 dogs on my own; I’m with them from morning till night to ensure everyone gets fed, has something to drink, receives the necessary medication, that their kennels and sleeping areas are clean, and that they get out into the exercise run or go for a walk. I have to maintain 1.5 hectares of land, take photos and videos of the dogs so I can write posts about them afterwards, in the hope that someone might fall in love with them and adopt one of our charges... and so on. I could go on listing the tasks until nightfall.

It would be nice to breathe a little easier if I didn’t have to worry about the financial side of things, at least.
