Dear friends and fellow citizens,

Today, I ask for your attention and compassion for a cause that demands our solidarity. Spain, a place close to many of our hearts, has been devastated by severe storms and flooding, leaving countless lives shattered. What is for so many of us a cherished destination, has now become a land of despair and unimaginable loss.

The recent storms that struck Spain have claimed dozens of lives, swept away entire neighborhoods, and left families homeless and heartbroken. Roads have collapsed, homes are uninhabitable, and entire communities are grappling with the loss of their loved ones, their security, and their futures. Parents worry about where to go next, children have lost their familiar surroundings, and the elderly find themselves stripped of the places they called home.

We cannot stand by and watch as so many of our friends, colleagues, and even family members in Spain struggle through such devastating losses. While we may not be able to take away all the pain, we can offer hope and support, no matter how small. We can make a difference. We can give Spain the help it desperately needs.

That’s why I’m calling on each of you to join us in the “Expats for Spain” campaign. Every donation, big or small, can help provide shelter, rebuild homes, and give families the chance to start over. It shows that we care, that they are not alone in this tragedy.
