I’m in a very bad financial situation. I can’t cope mentally. I used to work abroad, but now I’m out of work and haven’t been able to find a job for six months, so I’ve got myself into a lot of debt. I have nightmares about the bailiff knocking on my door, and it’s not good. I cry and sometimes feel like I don’t know what else to do. I’d like to move abroad, not just for work but for a better life, but I can’t. Because I’m in debt and I’ve got nothing for the journey. I can’t get any support from my family because they’re in a bad situation too. The money will go towards paying off all my debts, plus, if enough is raised, towards the journey to find work abroad. But first come the loans. If there’s anyone out there with a kind heart, I’d be grateful. Because I don’t need a material gift; I’d be happy just not to have any debts. A weight would be lifted from my shoulders straight away, and that’s all. But even if I don’t have any money and I know someone needs it, I’ll give it to them. Like what happened once at the train station, where a homeless man just wanted some food; he gave the money back to me and said, ‘If you buy me something to eat, that’s enough for me.’ That’s when I knew I was doing the right thing. But now I’m the one in a bad way, so I hope there’s still someone out there with a good heart.
