Hi everyone!

A 15-year-old boy contacted me to ask for help for his family, and that in itself was heartbreaking.

I then got in touch with his mother, we discussed their situation, and I also verified what she had told me.

The family’s situation is backed up by medical documents, which I currently have in my possession.

The mother lives with her 15-year-old son and is also raising her grandchild (she is officially the child’s guardian). It is important to mention that the 15-year-old boy is also ill: he has ADHD and asthma, which makes everyday life even more difficult.

The father is seriously ill. According to the medical records:

– he has suffered two strokes,

– he has had a cerebral infarction,

– he has hemiplegia,

– he uses a wheelchair,

– he has progressive, worsening muscle atrophy,

– he has asthma,

– he has diabetes,

– suffers from high blood pressure,

– and cannot be left alone, requiring long-term care.

His mother’s own health is not good either.

In 2023, she underwent major surgery to have one of her kidneys removed, as well as vascular surgery to have a stent fitted in her leg. Despite this, she worked for as long as she could, but due to her husband’s condition and the family situation, she is currently unable to take on work.

Her husband currently receives a benefit of 58,000 HUF.

As his condition is serious and he requires full-time care, applications for further benefits have been submitted; these are currently being processed, but the assessment takes a long time and no decision has yet been made.

In the meantime, however, the family needs immediate help.

They have tried to make use of local authority and other resources wherever possible, but these are temporary or protracted processes, whilst expenses are ongoing.

They would like to use the support to pay for electricity, gas bottles, firewood and food.

It is important to note that the transferred amount does not go to me, but directly into the account of the family’s 15-year-old son, so all payments go there.
