Help Emil WALK again! - TOGETHER FOR EMIL

At the age of 35, Emil was involved in a tragic road accident that completely changed his life. As a result of the impact, Emil suffered multiple serious injuries, the most significant of which are:

- A fracture of the T4 thoracic vertebra, which led to a spinal cord injury.

-Thoracic polytrauma and upper thoracic spinal cord injury.

-T3-T4 fracture-dislocation and FRANKEL-A paraplegia.

-Comminuted fracture of the left clavicle and right acromioclavicular dislocation.

-Fractures of ribs 1–7 on the right side and 1–5 on the left side.

-Bilateral pulmonary contusions and grade 3 splenic rupture.

-Pneumoperitoneum and grade 3 presacral pressure ulcers.

These serious injuries have had major medical consequences, and the necessary treatments are complex and extremely costly.

Emil’s fight for recovery

Between 31 June and 26 August, Emil was admitted to the Floreasca Emergency Clinical Hospital in Bucharest, in the intensive care unit. He was subsequently transferred to the Sf. Pantelimon County Hospital in Focșani for the treatment of pressure ulcers.

Now, Emil urgently needs intensive rehabilitation at the Neuro-Motor Rehabilitation and Hyperbaric Medicine Hospital in Târgu Mureș, where he can receive the treatment on which his future depends.

The costs of this treatment are very high, amounting to 1,500 lei per day, a sum far beyond his family’s means.
