Description
I was born with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a degenerative condition that affects the muscles, leading to the destruction of muscle cells, which are then replaced by fat cells. Those affected by this condition first lose certain abilities, such as climbing stairs or walking. In the final stage, the respiratory and cardiac muscles are lost, leading to premature death, usually around the age of 30. I was seven years old when I was diagnosed, and I witnessed the deterioration of my own body and the effects of my gradual weakening. This caused a great deal of suffering and pain for me, as well as for those who supported and helped me. I am now 23 years old, and a drug has finally been discovered that completely halts muscle wasting and allows me to live the full and normal life I have always dreamed of. Unfortunately, the drug is extremely expensive, costing over 1 billion forints. That is why I need to raise funds, and I am very, very grateful for all the help I receive. Thank you!
