I was born with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a degenerative disease that affects the muscles, leading to the death of muscle cells and their replacement by fat cells. People who suffer from this disease first lose certain abilities, such as climbing stairs or walking. In the final stage, the respiratory and cardiac muscles are lost, leading to premature death, usually around the age of 30. I was 7 years old when I was diagnosed and witnessed the deterioration of my own body and the effects of gradual debilitation. This caused me a lot of suffering and pain, as well as those who supported and helped me. I am now 23 years old and finally a drug has been discovered that will completely stop the muscle breakdown and allow me to live the full and normal life I have always dreamed of. Unfortunately, the drug is extremely expensive, costing over 1 billion forints. That is why I have to fundraise and I am very, very grateful for all the help I receive. Thank you!
