I've always liked freedom. As a kid, I spent a lot of time outdoors, riding my bike and dreaming of driving a car one day. Although I grew up in a family that didn't have much money, I was never discouraged. On the contrary. That desire kept me alive. I was 18 when I was first offered a part-time job, but while I had plenty of motivation, I didn't have a driver's license. Without it, I was practically trapped. Without the ability to go somewhere, look for a better job and move on.

In 2021, my father died unexpectedly. My mother and I were left alone. Unfortunately, she too has been battling a serious illness for several years now, which has limited her strength. We are having a very difficult time trying to make ends meet, but my situation is getting more complicated.

My family could not contribute to my driver's license. My mom, who works part-time, is struggling with her illness, so she's focused on making sure she has enough money for medicine and basic necessities. So I stayed home after high school because I couldn't find a job that would give me a chance to develop and become self-sufficient.

Every day I watch others around me getting chances, going to work and building their lives. And me? Here I am, waiting for an opportunity that never comes. I'm standing still, and the only thing that could help me is getting my driver's license. But without a car, without my own transportation, I'm trapped in the small town where I live.

I dream of finding a job that will fulfill me, but without a driver's license, I don't stand a chance. My world revolves around buses that run once an hour, and that doesn't allow me to take advantage of the opportunities I would have if I had a driver's license.

I believe a driver's license is more than just a piece of paper that gives me the right to drive. It is the key to a new phase of my life, a step towards independence and self-esteem. And right now, it's my only chance to change. If I can get my license, I can finally start looking for a job that will motivate me and that will move me forward.

To build a better life for myself, I need help. It's not something I can do alone. I don't want this story to sound like an excuse or an apology. It's just my reality, which is very hard for me.
