I’m 20 years old, and I’ve been in a loving relationship with my boyfriend for three years. We always try to be careful, but unfortunately, I got a positive pregnancy test yesterday. I need help to afford a medical abortion because I can’t continue with this pregnancy. My family is against abortion, and I cannot tell them about this, which makes this situation even more challenging.

I’m a university student, and neither financially nor mentally am I in a position to support a child. To make matters more difficult, I am currently in Italy, where getting approval for a voluntary abortion is complicated due to many doctors opposing it. In my home country, I would need to see a private doctor for the procedure, as the public healthcare system doesn’t provide this service.

The cost for the medical abortion (pill) is €300, but I also need to cover the cost of an airplane ticket to return home. My boyfriend and I cannot afford these expenses, and that’s why I’m asking for your support. Any help, no matter how small, would mean the world to us during this incredibly difficult time. I have until next week to proceed with the medical abortion, if I don’t have the money (and I try not think of that) I will no longer be able to use the pills as an abortion method.
