Alex suffered a severe head injury following a serious accident. Due to complications, it was necessary to remove part of his skull (decompressive craniectomy) to allow his brain to swell without being compressed and to save his life. To date, Alex has undergone several major operations.

At present, his condition is stable but fragile. The absence of the skull bone exposes him to serious risks, including trauma, infection and further neurological damage. Therefore, further surgery is absolutely necessary to reimplant the skull bone or fit a special plate (cranioplasty). This operation is essential to protect the brain and to continue the process of neurological recovery.

Following this procedure, Alex will require long-term medical rehabilitation at a clinic specialising in neurorehabilitation. This will include physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, neurological monitoring and round-the-clock care, tailored to his current condition. Recovery is a slow and complex process, but absolutely essential to restore as many of his lost functions as possible.

In addition, specialised medical transport from Germany to Romania is required. Given his condition, this transport must be carried out exclusively by a suitably equipped medical ambulance with specialist staff (doctor/nurse), oxygen, continuous monitoring and the ability to intervene in an emergency. Standard transport is not a safe option.

All these stages – the surgery, medical transport and recovery – involve very high costs, which are beyond our family’s means. That is why we are appealing for your support so that we can continue this medical journey, which is vital for Alex’s life.
