We are a young Slovenian couple going through one of the toughest times of our lives. Our account is standing at –383 EUR, not due to reckless spending, but because life gave us no other option.

It all started back in 2022 when I fought a year long battle with skin cancer on my face. To add insult to injury, I had been misdiagnosed multiple times before getting to the correct diagnosis. It was in that same period of time that the Pandemic caused a huge loss of income for me as a freelance worker. Collectively, the misdiagnoses, recovery, and pandemic had impacted both our finances and put major strain on our mental wellbeing. Just as we were recuperating, misfortune struck again: I developed lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow) on my principal arm, making me incapable of continuing my physical work.

My girlfriend is a 9.8/10 GPA student, working while studying, but the money she earns is a drop in the ocean compared to our debt. Thousands of euros were borrowed from relatives and friends, not to mention all the rest. To top it off, we are also engaged in a battle with our bank, which for years mismanaged my account and further damaged our finances.

We are aware that internet appeals can be fake. That is why we added authentic documents — medical documents, screenshots of finances, and other proofs. Since we are based in our home country, the documents are written in Slovenian, but we are eager to explain every detail so that everything becomes understandable. Please keep in mind that what we presented is just a small part of the story.

We are not looking for luxury at all. We are only calling for support to help pay rent, meet bare minimum living expenses, give me enough time to properly heal so I can start working again, and potentially pay back some of what we owe.
