Aspire Safari - Initial 5 Scholarships

Aspire Safari - Initial 5 Scholarships

Description

What Are We Raising Funds For?

Right now, five young people are standing at the edge of possibility.

They have done everything right. They studied under difficult circumstances. They persisted. They excelled. They dared to dream beyond the limits of a refugee camp.

But talent alone does not pay tuition.

Ambition alone does not secure a visa.

Hard work alone does not cover rent.

This is where you come in.

Your support can be the bridge between potential and opportunity.

Your donation can turn “almost possible” into “fully achievable.”

Aspire Safari is currently in its founding phase — but the mission has already begun.

Five remarkable young people have been identified as our first potential scholars. Each of them carries an extraordinary story of resilience, discipline, and hope.

Three of them grew up in Kakuma refugee camp.

All five are ready to take the next step — if we can help them take it.

Meet the First Five Scholars

A 21-year-old South Sudanese woman, raised in Kakuma refugee camp, determined to study Computer Science in Kenya.

A 19-year-old South Sudanese woman, also from Kakuma, planning to study Law in Kenya, with the long-term vision of advocating for justice in her region.

A 21-year-old South Sudanese woman, Kakuma-born, aspiring to study Computer Science in Germany.

An 18-year-old South Sudanese young man, from Kakuma, preparing to study Engineering in Germany.

A 26-year-old Ugandan woman, who has already completed her degree in Human Medicine and now aims to pursue a Master’s in Microbiology in Germany.

These are not abstract cases.

These are real individuals with transcripts, references, and extraordinary determination.

Why Kenya? Why Germany?

For two students, we have selected the United States International University Africa (USIU) in Kenya as the target institution. Its internationally recognized degrees open doors to global master’s programs and long-term international opportunities.

For the three students planning to study in Germany, we deliberately chose Germany because it offers high-quality, internationally respected education at nearly no tuition fees at public universities.

Germany provides exceptional academic standards while keeping structural education costs low — making it one of the most efficient and sustainable places in the world to invest in talent.

However, even when tuition fees are minimal, living costs, health insurance, administrative fees, visa processes, and travel expenses remain significant barriers.

That is what we are raising funds for.

The Financial Reality

To make this possible, we calculate:

€1,200 per month per student in Germany

(including living costs, health insurance, administrative fees, visa costs, and occasional travel)

€600 per month per student in Kenya

Depending on language preparation and recognition of prior education, we are planning for 4–5 years of support per student.

This is not short-term aid.

It is a long-term investment in future engineers, lawyers, scientists, and technology leaders.

What Your Support Enables

Your contribution does not disappear into overhead.

It directly enables:

Tuition and university enrollment

Safe housing and basic living expenses

Language preparation and integration

Stability — so these students can focus entirely on their education

We are not simply funding degrees.

We are investing in leadership, responsibility, and long-term change.

And it begins with one decision — yours.

About Aspire Safari

Talent is universal. Opportunity is not. Aspire Safari was founded on a simple belief: Bright, motivated young people in East Africa and South Sudan deserve access to the same educational opportunities as students anywhere else in the world.

Many of these students have the intelligence, resilience, and ambition to succeed at top universities — including in Germany. What they often lack is financial support, preparation, mentoring, and someone who believes in their potential.

Aspire Safari exists to close that gap. We support talented students through:

  • Scholarships for university studies
  • Mentoring and preparation programs
  • Local education support initiatives
  • Sponsorship models that connect donors directly with students

At the same time, we are building a sustainable foundation capital through long-term fundraising initiatives to ensure lasting impact.

Current Status

Aspire Safari has been established as a German trust (Treuhandstiftung) and is currently applying for official non-profit recognition from the German tax authorities.

We are in the founding phase — laying the legal groundwork, launching our first crowdfunding campaign, and building an international network of supporters.

Currently, we run with zero admin costs based on 100% volunteering work. If this should change at any point of time, we will be very transparent with our spendings, displaying them online on our website (not yet fully set up by now) www.aspire-safari.com.

Questions can be sent to [email protected] at any point of time.

Who Is Behind Aspire Safari?

Aspire Safari was founded by a German business leader (LinkedIn) with a career spanning Europe and Asia. After studying mathematics and economics and working internationally in strategy and leadership roles, he developed close personal and professional connections to East Africa, especially Kenya, Uganda, and South Sudan.

Through these relationships, he encountered extraordinary young people with enormous potential — but limited access to opportunity.

Aspire Safari is his commitment to turning potential into possibility.

Legal and Tax Notice

Aspire Safari is currently in the process of applying for official non-profit recognition in Germany. At present, contributions made via this platform are not tax-deductible.

All funds are transferred directly from the fundraising platform to the respective scholars and do not pass through the foundation or its representatives.

Contributions are therefore considered voluntary private support payments made directly to the individual scholar.

Under German gift tax law, gifts between unrelated persons may be subject to tax if certain thresholds (generally €20,000 per donor per recipient within a 10-year period) are exceeded. The tax treatment depends on the individual circumstances of the donor and recipient.

Aspire Safari does not provide tax advice. Donors are responsible for clarifying any potential tax implications with their own tax advisor.
