Description
Every day, new dogs are abandoned on the streets here. Many wander around for days on end, disoriented – hungry, frightened and searching for a safe place. They are chased away, shouted at or even beaten. It is precisely these dogs that I try to help: with food, water, vet visits and spaying the females, so that no more dogs have to suffer on the streets.
I work as a freelancer and don’t earn much money, but I still try to help wherever I can. However, the costs are constantly rising. A 10-kilo bag of food costs around €9 and, unfortunately, doesn’t last long. A neutering or a necessary vet’s visit now costs around €100. Even at vets who run a neutering programme, I now pay €100 for a sterilisation. On top of that, I don’t have a car and often have to rely on the help of others.
Despite everything, I don’t want to look the other way. I simply wish for people who love animals as much as I do and who would like to join me in helping to give the street dogs at least a little bit of safety and care. Every euro helps.
