Help for Our Friend and Volunteer Maxim Kuzmin: Save Him from Deportation and Support Inclusivity.

Dear friends and concerned individuals,

We are reaching out to you with a request for help for our friend and volunteer Maxim Kuzmin, who has dedicated himself to the development of running events in Lithuania. Our colleague, who actively organizes ParkRun Vilnius and DieHard Running Vilnius, is now facing a difficult situation.

After the start of the war in Ukraine, he was forced to move with his family to Lithuania from Russia because he actively opposes the aggressive war and does not agree with the criminal regime of Putin. Maxim is 46 years old and, after school, studied at the Military Engineering Academy specializing in civil engineering from 1995 to 2000. In 2002, he left the armed forces voluntarily because he did not want to serve under Putin's criminal regime. After leaving the military, he has spent his career working in civilian construction companies, building houses, office centers, and hotels.

Despite his firm stance against the war and unwillingness to support the actions of the Russian government, the Lithuanian Migration Department views him as a potential threat to national security and plans to deport him, believing he might be recruited by Russian intelligence services.

He has appealed this decision in court, but to cover the lawyer's fees, he needs to raise 3700 euros, which he unfortunately does not have. We, his friends, colleagues, and members of the running community, are organizing this fundraising effort to help him stay in Lithuania and continue his socially beneficial activities.

Important: Any funds raised beyond the required amount will be used to purchase wheelchairs for people with disabilities. These wheelchairs will help support more people and enable them to participate in our sporting events, promoting inclusivity and a healthy lifestyle.
