Description
I have lived a life unlike most—born in Hungary, yet ethnically Roma, I spent more than a decade abroad, never truly feeling at home. Struggling with mental health challenges, including Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), has shaped my past but will not define my future. For years, therapy tried to heal what life had broken. But I have come to realize that spirituality and faith, not therapy, are the answers I have been searching for.
I have exhausted all available spiritual programs and faith practices, always learning and observing, but ultimately feeling neutral about mainstream holidays. Yet, for over a decade, I have been unspeakably drawn to Jewish holidays—celebrating them unofficially, year after year, as if I were already an honorary Jew. Now, I know that this calling is real.
Judaism has been my passion and my dream for as long as I can remember. Now, for the first time in my life, I have the chance to become my true self—not as a wandering outsider but as a member of the Jewish people. This journey is not just a conversion. It is the first step toward feeling at home, belonging, and fulfilling my purpose.
My strong Roma identity has always been a defining part of me, despite how society has perceived me—whether it was being “too educated” for some or simply misunderstood. My Roma heritage is woven into every drop of my blood, shaping how I perceive the world. But to be recognized officially and globally as a Jewish person would mark the secure, albeit belated, start of my self-realization, inner peace, and sense of purpose.
