It is with a heavy heart that I am writing to you, but my family has now reached a point where we cannot manage to get ready for winter without help.

Allow me to introduce myself: my name is András Rab, and I live with my wife and two young children (aged 3 and 11) in Tiszainoka, a small village in Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County. I was recently working in Budapest, but due to our circumstances we had to move back to the countryside. Unfortunately, our difficulties have not ended here either.

Our younger child suffers from severe respiratory problems (grade 8 croup) and a suspected milk allergy, whilst our older child needs emotional support as they have been subjected to bullying at school for a long time. Because of this, my wife is unable to take on work, and although I do work, a significant portion of my wages is deducted due to an old debt. As a result, we are living on barely 200,000 forints a month.

The house we live in is ours, but it has no heating system. While I was working in Budapest, we planned to install one, but in the end we couldn’t manage it. Now, however, it is essential that we have a way to keep our home warm, especially for the sake of the children’s health.

It would be a huge help to us if we could get through the winter safely and warmly.
