We need help for Doru Stamatin, who is fighting for his life.

Last year, on 29 September, his life changed completely following a stroke he suffered in Germany, in a car park, where he was found unconscious next to the lorry he was working on. He underwent three brain operations (on 29 September, a week later and on 18 December) and was in a coma.

After seven months in hospital, with enormous effort, his family managed to bring him home. Today, at just 43 years old, he is bedridden, with partial paralysis on his right side (arm and leg), cannot speak and is fed via a gastric tube.

He also has a urinary catheter and requires constant care.

His sister, Stamatin Doina, looks after him without any financial support.

The situation is extremely difficult, and his daily needs are costly:

• Special food: approximately 120–160 lei per day
• Nappies: approximately 3 per day
• Urinary bags, dressings, sterile materials
• Wet wipes and hygiene products
• Disinfectants and sterilisation supplies
• Home medical consultations (chargeable)
• Requires rehabilitation (speech therapy and other therapies)

Any help, however small, can make a huge difference to him and his sister, who struggles day in, day out to provide him with the care he needs.
