What do we aim to achieve?

The aim of the fundraising campaign is to build a support system that provides real help to families raising children with injuries or disabilities:

- supporting early intervention and therapies,

- funding for medicines and specialist equipment,

- providing transport and accompaniment to medical appointments,

- providing periodic respite care for parents,

- immediate assistance in crisis situations,

- community programmes and peer support.

Sziget’s aim is simple:

to provide safety where it is most needed.

Who are the beneficiaries?

The direct beneficiaries of the fundraising campaign are families raising children with injuries, disabilities or long-term illnesses who seek assistance through the Safe Start – Tisza Island programme.

The support is not directed at a single individual, but at a specific, clearly defined target group: families who are raising children with proven special needs and who require support due to financial or life circumstances.

How is the support allocated?

The Tisza-sziget team distributes the donations received on a case-by-case basis, according to the requests submitted by the families.

The process is transparent and documented:

- the family specifies their specific need (e.g. therapy, medication, equipment, travel, crisis situation),

- Tisza-sziget staff verify and document the request,

- a written decision is made regarding the support,

- an account of how the funds were used is prepared in every case.

In what form is the support provided?

The grant is not paid in cash but is provided in one of the following forms:

- direct payment for services (e.g. developmental therapy, psychological support, transport),

- funding for equipment or medicines supported by an invoice,

- vouchers for special equipment or for use at a pharmacy,

- immediate targeted assistance in crisis situations (e.g. urgent examination, travel, purchase of equipment).

In all cases, the support is paid directly to the service provider or the party issuing the invoice, thereby ensuring transparency and proper use of funds.
