🐾 Swipe right and give a shelter animal a home!

Somewhere right now, a dog is sitting behind the bars of a kennel, waiting. Not because nobody wants them, but because nobody knows they’re there.

There are loads of dogs and cats in shelters waiting for a home, but their adverts are scattered and get lost in the sea of Facebook posts. Many people who’d love to adopt simply never come across them. We want to change that.

The idea

A free mobile app where you can see all the animals from local shelters in one place. It works just like a dating app: photos, a short introduction, and if a four-legged friend makes your heart skip a beat, you just swipe right. The app connects you to the shelter straight away.

What will the app offer?

Profile cards: photos, age, temperament and useful tags, such as ‘child-friendly’ or ‘suitable for flats’

One swipe and you’re connected: send a message or request an appointment directly to the shelter

Notifications: if there’s any new news about an animal you’ve saved to your favourites, you’ll know straight away

Easy uploading for shelters: with just a few clicks, completely free of charge

Who are we?

We’re the team at webu.hu, and we specialise in app development. Most recently, we built a complete food delivery platform for iOS and Android. For this project, we’re providing our services free of charge; the funds raised will cover only those costs that we cannot save on.

What will your support be used for?

• Development and AI tools, as well as the operation of the AI assistant
• Server, database and notification services for the first three years
• App Store and Google Play developer fees

Transparency

We’ll publish reports with screenshots of every stage of development on menhely.app. There, you’ll be able to see exactly where the project stands, what your support has been used for, and which shelters have already joined.

Here’s how you can help:

1. Support the fundraiser – every amount counts 🧡
2. Share this so it reaches as many shelters and prospective owners as possible
3. Do you know of a shelter? Let us know in the comments, and we’ll get in touch with them!

Every ‘like’ is another chance for a loving home. 🐶🐱
