Let's help Abu Hamam's family so they can live with a bit more dignity:

I present to you Hamam, Moataz, and their father, Abu Hamam, at the small coffee stall they run at the gates of Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis, south of Gaza Strip.

Abu Hamam's family, like all families in Gaza, is going through very hard times. Besides losing family members due to Israeli bombings, they have no home (it was destroyed by bombings), and Abu Hamam and his children have to sleep in the small coffee stall, which is just a canopy covering a small space where there is a small stove to heat water for coffee and tea, their only means of livelihood.

Due to the Israeli blockade, there is hardly any food in Gaza, and what is available is extremely expensive. 1 kg of flour costs $35, 1 kg of rice or pasta costs $10, and 1 kg of sugar costs $25. There is no meat, and vegetables are scarce (only onions, but a single onion costs $4; there are also some tomatoes, cucumbers, potatoes, and eggplants, each costing $10 per kilogram). There are no fruits, only watermelon—also at $10 per kilogram. A can of tuna costs $5. A liter of sunflower oil costs $35, and there is no olive oil.

With their small sales of coffee and tea, Abu Hamam and his children earn nowhere near enough to feed themselves properly or support the rest of the family relying on their small business, including several children. Besides constantly fearing bombings, they suffer from severe hunger.

That is why we ask you here, please, for help for them. By making a donation, the family can obtain some cash to buy food. There are no ATMs or banks in Gaza, but there are people with enough liquid money to whom Abu Hamam's family can transfer funds, so they can give them the cash they need. The mechanism works :)

دعونا نساعد عائلة أبو هامام لتتمكن من العيش بكرامة أكثر.

أقدم لكم هامام، معاذ ووالدهم أبو هامام، في الكشك الصغير الذي يديرونه عند أبواب مستشفى الناصر في خان يونس، جنوب قطاع غزة.

عائلة أبو هامام، مثل جميع عائلات غزة، تمر بأوقات عصيبة جدًا. بالإضافة إلى فقدان أفراد من عائلاتهم بسبب الغارات الإسرائيلية، ليس لديهم منزل (تم تدميره جراء القصف)، ويضطر أبو هامام وأولاده إلى النوم في الكشك الصغير، الذي لا يقتصر إلا على مظلة تغطي مساحة صغيرة يوجد فيها فرن صغير يسخن الماء لصنع القهوة والشاي، وهو مصدر رزقهم الوحيد.

وبسبب الحصار الإسرائيلي، تكاد لا توجد طعام في غزة، وما يوجد منه مكلف جدًا. سعر كيلو الدقيق 35 دولارًا، أرخص سعر للرز أو المعكرونة هو 10 دولارات، وكيلو السكر 25 دولارًا. لا يوجد لحم، والأغذية النباتية نادرة (فقط بصل، ولكن سعر البصل الواحد 4 دولارات؛ وهناك بعض الطماطم والخيار والبطاطا والباذنجان، وكل منها بسعر 10 دولارات للكيلوغرام). كما لا يوجد فواكه، فقط البطيخ، والذي يكلف أيضًا 10 دولارات للكيلو. علبة التونة تكلف 5 دولارات. لتر واحد من زيت عباد الشمس يساوي 35 دولارًا، وليس هناك زيت الزيتون.

بالبيع القليل من القهوة والشاي، لا يربح أبو هامام وأولاده تقريبًا ما يكفي لتلبية احتياجاتهم الغذائية، ولا للعائلة كاملة التي تعتمد على هذا النشاط التجاري الصغير، ومن بينهم أطفال. بالإضافة إلى خوفهم المستمر من القصف الإسرائيلي، يعانون من جوع شديد.

لذا، نطلب منكم من هنا المساعدة لهم، من فضلكم. عند التبرع، يمكن للعائلة أن تحصل على بعض المال النقدي لشراء الطعام. لا يوجد صرف آلي أو بنوك في غزة، لكن هناك أشخاص يمتلكون أموالاً كافية ويمكن لعائلة أبو هامام أن تحول إليهم مبلغًا، بحيث يعطونهم المال نقدًا. الآلية تعمل :)

Ayudemos a la familia de Abu Hamam para que puedan vivir con un poco más de dignidad:

Os presento a Hamam, Moataz y a su padre, Abu Hamam, en el pequeño puesto de café que regentan a las puertas del hospital Nasser de Khan Junis, al sur de la franja de Gaza. 

La familia de Abu Hamam, como todas las familias de Gaza, está atravesando momentos muy duros. Además de haber perdido a miembros de su familia por culpa de los bombardeos israelíes, no tienen casa (fue destruida por los bombardeos), y Abu Hamam y sus hijos han de dormir en el pequeño puesto de café, que no es más que un toldo que cubre un pequeño espacio en el que hay un hornillo donde calientan agua para hacer café y té, su único medio de subsistencia. 

Como consecuencia del asedio israelí, en Gaza no hay apenas comida, y la que hay está carísima. 1 kg de harina vale 35 dólares, 1 kg de arroz o de pasta 10 dólares, 1 kg de azúcar 25 dólares. No hay carne y apenas verduras (solo cebollas, pero una sola cebolla vale 4 dólares; también hay algunos tomates, pepinos, patatas y berenjenas, pero cada kg vale 10 dólares). Tampoco hay fruta, bueno, solo sandía, a también 10 dólares el kilo. 1 lata de atún vale 5 dólares. 1 litro de aceite de girasol vale 35 dólares y no hay aceite de oliva.

Con su escasa venta de cafés y tés Abu Hamam y sus hijos no ganan, ni de lejos, lo necesario para alimentarse correctamente ellos, ni tampoco el resto de familiares que dependen de su pequeña actividad comercial, entre los que hay varios niños. Pasan, además de miedo constante por culpa de los bombardeos israelíes, mucha hambre. 

Por eso desde aquí os queremos pedir, por favor, una ayuda para ellos. Al hacer una donación, ellos pueden lograr conseguir algo de dinero líquido y así poder comprar comida. Ya no hay cajeros ni bancos en Gaza, pero hay personas que disponen de suficiente dinero líquido y a quienes la familia de Abu Hamam les puede hacer una transferencia, de manera que estas personas les den el dinero contante que necesitan. El mecanismo funciona :)
