Hello, my name is Lukáš, and together with my partner Jana, we are fighting for the one thing many take for granted: the chance to become parents. We are both 28, and for the last two years, our lives have revolved around a dream that feels further away with every passing month.

The Challenge We Face

Our path has been blocked by medical complications on both sides. Jana was born two months premature, which led to lifelong health struggles, including thyroid issues that have severely impacted her hormonal balance and fertility. On my side, I face reduced sperm quality, meaning our chances of conceiving naturally are, unfortunately, near zero.

We’ve tried every natural method and supplement available, but after two years of heartbreak, our doctors have been clear: IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) is our only realistic path to a child.

The Financial Barrier (The "Insurance Gap")

This is where we need your help. In the Czech Republic, health insurance covers the basic IVF procedure, but for a couple with our specific medical complications, the "basic" package isn't enough. To actually succeed, we need advanced laboratory methods that insurance considers "optional" or "luxury," even though they are medically necessary for us.

The costs we must cover out-of-pocket include:

• High-dose hormonal stimulation: Significant co-payments for medications.

• Advanced Lab Methods (ICSI/PICSI): Essential for selecting and fertilizing eggs due to sperm quality issues.

• Extended Embryo Cultivation: Monitoring embryos for 5 days to ensure only the strongest are transferred.

• Cryopreservation: Safely freezing embryos for future attempts if the first one fails.

• Genetic Testing (PGT): Necessary to ensure the health of the embryo given Jana's history.

The total cost for these "add-ons" and medications quickly climbs to 100,000 – 150,000 CZK ($4,500 – $6,500 USD). As a young couple, this is a mountain we simply cannot climb alone.
