Description
Ladies and gentlemen, dear friends.
We are writing to ask for your support for our organisation, which works to promote the interests of the Polish State and Poland’s positive image within the European Union, in connection with the Polish Day in Brussels 2022–2023 and 2024 project.
Once again, the grant system of the Polish State, represented by the Prime Minister’s Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has failed us, leaving us to fend for ourselves.
Once again, organisations that have marginalised our activities within the Polish diaspora over recent years have received funding for 2024.
Once again, we and the volunteers of the organising team have not received this support, despite the fact that we are building the largest event for the Polish diaspora and Poles in the European Union and have been paying for it out of our own private funds for years as the Board of Help Centre Belgium a.s.b.l.
We have been building a modern Polish community in Europe, as well as aid, humanitarian and cultural initiatives.
We have carried out major humanitarian campaigns to support Poland during the crisis of the war in Ukraine, sending €500,000 worth of humanitarian aid to Poland. We have supported the City of Warsaw, WOŚP, Caritas Zamość, the Mazovian Branch of the Polish Red Cross, and the Zustricz Foundation. For years, we have been supporting the Polish community in Belgium, building civil society.
From the very beginning, we have been organising the largest Polish and Polish diaspora festival in Europe: Polish Day in Brussels.
It is impossible to describe all our activities, but you can find them on our website: www.helpcentre.be
We are asking for financial support to enable us to survive as a non-profit organisation and finalise our accounts for Polish Day in Brussels 2023 and 2024 www.polishdayinbrussels.be
We are the sole legal organiser of the event in Belgium, having processed all permits since its inception. We also bear personal responsibility for all accounts, additional costs and legal liability for the event.
No other entity has such obligations, so we can only count on your financial support.
Thank you very much!
