"Hello,

I am Afnan Abed from Palestine, from besieged Gaza. I have a small family. My siblings and I were orphans because the Israeli occupation killed my father when we were children.

My mother, Mervat, was widowed at the age of twenty-eight.

She devoted her entire life to raising and educating us, and providing for our needs.

Over the years, because of the hardships of life, the bloody war, and the scarcity of treatment, my mother developed hepatitis, a herniated disc, and diabetes. These conditions affected her health and eyes, gradually weakening her vision until it led to cataracts in the center of her vision due to damage to the blood vessels in her retina.

"My mother" is our only support and provider in this life, and she is the most precious person we have. We are very worried about her because her condition is worsening day by day.

She is in dire need of surgery abroad to regain her health and her sight, which is the most precious thing a person has.

It's not just about that. 

Because of the bloody war we endured, we live in difficult living conditions that lack the most basic necessities of life. Years of hard work and effort were wiped out in moments when war completely destroyed our home for the second time. The first was in the 2021 war and the second was this year, the 2023-2024 war.

On October 13, 2023, we were forced to flee our home and move from the northern region to the southern Gaza Strip to escape death.

This is the most difficult thing a person can experience: leaving our home and finding no shelter, as a result we are forced to build a tent that doesn't protect them from the summer heat or the winter cold.

I feel deeply saddened to inform you that I was unable to complete my master's degree, which I had always dreamed of obtaining at Al-Aqsa University in Gaza.

The war literally brought us back to zero, with no shelter, no future, no possibility of treating my mother, and no source of income to support all of this.

I am writing to you with a heart full of hope. I ask you to give a hand to my sick mother, who needs urgent treatment, and to help us rebuild our home, which is the only home we own.

Your assistance and donations, no matter how small, will make a difference in our lives and contribute to restoring our life.

I covet your generosity and compassion, and I don't wish what happened to us to happen to anyone in this world.

أمي "مرفت" ترملت في عمر الثمانية والعشرون عام

ووهبت كل حياتها في تربيتنا وتعليمنا وتوفير احتياجاتنا

لكن مع مرور السنين وكدر الحياة وبسبب الحرب الدامية التي تعرضنا لها وشح العلاج أصيبت أمي بالكبد الوبائي والانزلاق الغضروفي وبمرض السكري الذين أثر على صحتها وعينيها مما جعل نظرها يضعف تدريجيًا الى حين أن سبب لها اعتام بمركز الابصار بسبب تلف الاوعية الدموية الموجودة في شبكية العين

" أمي" هي سندنا الوحيد ومعيلنا في هذه الحياة وهي أغلى ما لدينا ف نحن قلقون جداً بشأنها، لأن حالتها تزاد سوء يوما بعد يوم

انها بأمس الحاجة إلى اجراء عمليات جراحية في الخارج لكي تستعيد عافيتها ونظرها الذي هو أغلى ما يملك الانسان.

الأمر لم يقتصر على ذلك فقط

ف بفعل الحرب الدامية التي تعرضنا لها نعيش ظروف معيشية صعبة تفتقر لأدنى مقومات الحياة فقد دُمر تعب وجهد سنين في لحظات حين قامت الحرب بتدمير منزلنا للمرة الثانية بشكل كامل، الاولى كانت في حرب سنة ٢٠٢١ والثانية في هذا العام حرب ٢٠٢٣-٢٠٢٤

في تاريخ ١٣/١٠/٢٠٢٣ اضطررنا للهروب من المنزل والنزوح من منطقة الشمال الى منطقة في جنوب قطاع غزة للنجاة من الموت

وهذا أصعب ما يمكن أن يمر به أي انسان أن يغادر منزله ولا يجد مكان ايواء يحتويه ف يُجبر أن يصنع خيمة لا تحميه من حر الصيف ولا برد الشتاء لكي يجلس فيها.

أشعر بالحزن الشديد عندما أخبركم أنني لم أستطيع استكمال دراسة الماجستير الذي لطالما حلمت بالحصول عليها من جامعة الأقصى بغزة

الحرب حرفياً أعادتنا الى نقطة الصفر حيث لا مأوى ولا امكانية لعلاج والدتي ولا مصدر رزق يساعد على ذلك كله.

أكتب إليكم وقلبي مثقل بالأمل والرجاء اطلب منكم مد يد العون لمساعدة والدتي المريضة التي تحتاج الى علاج مستعجل ومساعدتنا في اعادة بناء بيتنا الذي لا نملك غيره

مساعدتكم وتبرعكم مهما صغر حجمه سيحدث فرقاً في حياتنا وسيساهم في اعادة الحياة لنا.
