KlikkTV – Call for Support

Over the past few years, KlikkTV has worked consistently to contribute to a change of government through its credible and courageous programmes. Today, our programmes, discussions and analyses attract more than 12 million views a month – a figure that shows that more and more people are seeking the kind of public platform we are building.

Last spring, we appealed to you, explaining that independence comes at a price and that our very survival was at stake. The support we received at that time helped us through a difficult period, and we are grateful for it. However, our situation has not been resolved: as an independent editorial team, we still have to manage our operations on a month-to-month basis.

Since spring, we have been welcoming our guests in a new studio: renowned analysts, political scientists, former and future government figures, lawyers, economists, journalists and solicitors. Together with them, we strive to provide as accurate and nuanced a picture as possible, first and foremost of developments in Hungarian domestic politics. In addition, we have launched our daily news programme so that we can bring you the important news not only in our weekly in-depth discussions, but every day.

The April election marked a turning point in Hungarian public life. In the months since then, we have been working to show what is actually happening in the country: we are exploring what led to this turning point and following through on how accountability is being realised. This work is only just beginning in earnest – and this is precisely the stage when there is the greatest need for an editorial team that is accountable to no one but its viewers.

From autumn, we’ll be continuing with new programmes and more live broadcasts. To do this, we now need your help too.
