Hello everyone! My name is József, I’m 40 years old. I’m originally from Slovakia, but I currently live in Győr. I’m reaching out to you because I’m carrying a burden that I’ve had to bear through no fault of my own, and which has now taken over my daily life.

Five years ago, I was involved in a serious car accident. It is important to emphasise that I was completely blameless in the accident; I did not cause it. Another driver was careless and drove into me whilst performing a reckless manoeuvre, yet I am the one paying the heaviest price for it.

On impact, a significant portion of my teeth were knocked out and irreparably damaged. Since then, my life has been a never-ending nightmare. Those who knew me in the past know that I used to be a cheerful, constantly smiling person. Nowadays, I hardly dare leave my flat.

My relationship has fallen apart because of the state of my teeth, and my mental health is in tatters. Whenever I speak in a shop or at work, I can see the tension and confusion on people’s faces. That look destroys my self-confidence day after day. At 40, I don’t want to and can’t keep hiding from the world like this any longer.

Why am I asking for your help?

The cost of my full dental rehabilitation is €2,000 (approx. 800,000 HUF). This sum stands between me and being able to live as a fully functioning person again, to work, and to smile back at you on the street without shame – whether in Győr or at home in Dunaszerdahely.

Unfortunately, my financial situation does not allow me to raise this enormous sum on my own. That is why I am asking you, if you are able, to support my fundraising campaign.

Every forint or euro is another step towards my recovery and a return to a normal life.
