39 cows. 39 lives. Help us give them a winter without fear.
Description
Cows rarely evoke compassion.
All too often, they are seen as “products,” “livestock,” “meat,” or “milk.”
Rarely are they perceived as individuals – beings with names, relationships, memories, and emotions.
But we see them.
Centaurus Foundation, based in Poland, runs the largest horse sanctuary in the world. Across several locations covering nearly 1,000 hectares, the foundation currently cares for almost 1,500 horses and donkeys. In addition, Centaurus operates a well-developed adoption system for horses, donkeys, dogs, and cats, connecting animals with loving homes across Europe.

Today, under the care of Centaurus Foundation, there are 39 cows. Each one is a separate story. A separate life that, under a different scenario, would most likely have already ended. Every year in Poland alone, over one million adult cows and tens of thousands of calves are killed. These are numbers that conceal real tragedies – of mothers and their children.

Because a cow does not “produce milk on her own.” For a human to take her milk, the cow must first give birth to a calf. And that calf is almost always taken away from her by force. No calf means no milk. No separation and suffering means no industry.

These 39 cows were meant to share the fate of millions of others.
Today, they are safe.
But safety is a process – especially in winter.
Winter is an enormous challenge for cows. It is a time when they need:
- solid fencing,
- regular veterinary care,
- a farrier,
- transport between sanctuaries,
- brushes, which are not a luxury but an essential part of health and comfort,
- proper nutrition, treats, and daily, attentive care.
These are not extras.
They are the foundations of a dignified life.

At Centaurus, we do not recognize a hierarchy of animals’ worth. We do not believe that a dog deserves saving more than a cow. That a horse has “greater value” than cattle. That an animal’s closeness to humans should determine who has the right to live.
Every life is individual.
Every life matters.
This fundraiser exists so that 39 cows can get through the winter in peace. Without hunger. Without pain. Without fear. In a place where they are not just numbers, but someone’s wards.
Your donation is real help.
It is a fence that protects.
It is a veterinarian who heals.
It is transport that saves lives.
It is daily care that says: “you matter.”
If you are reading this, it means the fate of these cows is not indifferent to you. Help us show that the world can look different. That even animals who have been exploited for centuries can have a safe future.
Support the winter fundraiser for the 39 cows of Centaurus Foundation.
Together, we can give them life – not just survival.
Thank you.

This campaign is conducted as part of the “Love Wisely” initiative. More information and the campaign regulations can be found on the Centaurus Foundation website.
Why does the rescue amount differ from the fundraising goal? Thanks to your support, we are raising funds not only to save lives, but also for transport, medical examinations, initial veterinary care, and farrier services.
Centaurus Foundation has been working on behalf of animals since 2006. It is a non-profit organization. Centaurus has saved nearly 3,000 horses, including over 200 donkeys, thousands of dogs and cats, as well as numerous farm animals. All of them are alive thanks to people like you. Without this support, rescue would not be possible.
