Hello, my name is Ricardo Laranjinha. I come from a modest family, and from a very young age my parents have been ill. My father was in an accident in which he lost both his legs, and my mother later developed spinal problems due to osteogenesis imperfecta. Both were granted disability pensions at a very young age. I am an only child with the same genetic condition as my mother, but I was healthy until recently, when I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer 

that had metastasised to the liver, stage 4, a malignant insulinoma. I am currently 39 years old and my parents are 61 and 63. We have just been hit by the storm that battered Portugal on 28 January 2026 in Leiria, leaving part of the house damaged and the grounds with collapsed walls and gates. A large section of the roof has been damaged. I am asking for help, whether in the form of donations of materials (such as sandwich panels) or labour to help with the repairs, or financial contributions to cover the costs of rebuilding the house. Anything is welcome as long as it is for a good cause, and I am grateful for any kind of help that comes my way, as, being ill, I want to give my best to those who have always looked after me.
