Description
Amidst the quiet mountains of Transcarpathia, we want to create a place where children living in the shadow of war can be children again.
The aim of the “Emotional First Aid Kit” / “Healing Emotional Wounds” camp is to provide safety, love and emotional support for 25 children who have come from the front line or been forced to leave their homes, through a 10-day rehabilitation programme in the village of Kelecsin, Transcarpathia.
These children live with fear, loss, uncertainty and trauma on a daily basis. For many of them, the joyful moments of childhood have been replaced by flight, anxiety and survival. Our camp has been set up to help them reconnect with themselves, with one another and with the world.
Throughout the programme, art therapy sessions, group games, craft activities, nature-based experiences, excursions and psychological support help the children’s emotional healing. Singing together, evening discussions, mountain hikes and creative sessions all serve the aim of helping participants rediscover a sense of security, joy and togetherness.
The camp is run by experienced activity leaders, psychologists, teachers and support staff, who work with complete dedication and love to provide emotional support for the children. We provide accommodation, four meals a day, activities, excursions and all necessary equipment for the participants.
We need a donation of €10,000 to run a camp, which covers the children’s care, the materials needed for the activities, travel costs and the work of the professionals.
With your donation, you are not just supporting the organisation of a camp. You are helping to give hope to children who have encountered fear and loss far too early in life. You are helping them to laugh, create, play and believe once again that a safe and loving world exists.
The camp is organised by the Béke Bárkája Public Organisation.
Donations are collected in Hungary by the Camillian Monastery (4405 Nyíregyháza, Tallér u. 20.) and forwarded to the camp organisers.
Every donation counts.
Every contribution is a step towards healing.love
