On 9 May 2026, life will return to Gárdonyi Square in Eger. A new beginning.

To mark the anniversary of the change of regime, we are organising an event in Eger where the square will once again be filled with laughter, music and movement. There is life between two wine events, and we are now going to show this together.

We are not only bringing an era to a close, but also welcoming the school leavers, for whom something new is now opening up. The event is free. It is independent of political parties and public funding, but all the more dependent on you. The event is organised by volunteers. People who want to give, not take.

The evening we will experience together is made up of many small details. And we want ‘A New Beginning’ to be not just a one-off occasion, but something that continues. If it matters to you that there are such open, shared experiences in the city, now you too can contribute.

There are many people who are unable, unwilling, or cannot afford to take part in events in the capital, and this will also make the experience more accessible to those from surrounding towns. 

That is why we are launching a crowdfunding campaign, where every contribution counts, whether it’s the price of a drink or something more. Every contribution is a sign that there is a need for community, for coming together, and for celebrating together.
