My name is Stancu Florin, I am 54 years old, and I have been affected by diabetes for 25 years. Unfortunately, this disease, which has changed my life, led to the loss of my left leg.

On April 22, 2024, I went to the hospital for a check-up because I was having problems with the big toe on my left foot. During the visit, I was diagnosed with a severe infection, which, due to my diabetic condition, turned out to be fatal: it was gangrene. The first thing the doctors had to do was amputate my big toe. Unfortunately, the situation worsened, and the gangrene spread. The doctors decided to open my foot in two to check the source of the infection, and shortly after, they had to amputate the other four toes on my foot.

Despite treatment with intravenous antibiotics, the infection continued to spread without any signs of improvement. A week after the amputation of my toes, I suffered a heart attack. Fortunately, I was in the hospital, and they managed to save my life. The doctors then scheduled an urgent surgery.

Main surgery: Single coronary bypass with internal mammary artery.

Secondary surgeries: Auxiliary extracorporeal circulation for open-heart surgery.

This was just the beginning of the difficulties. After another week, unfortunately, the doctors had to amputate my left leg.

Now I am facing a new challenge: raising the necessary funds to buy a prosthesis that will allow me to walk again. I have three children and seven grandchildren, and I hope that with the help of generous people like you, I can reach the amount of 50,000 euros to purchase the prosthesis.
