A Heartfelt Appeal: Help Us Give Amberley a chance to fight for her recovery.

Our daughter Amberley’s life was turned upside down on the morning of April 29, 2024. On her way to school, in Mġarr(Malta), she was struck by a taxi—a tragic accident that stopped her young heart. Thanks to the heroic efforts of Officer Italo and the paramedics , Amberley was revived with CPR, but our lives have never been the same since.

Amberley, who once lit up every room with her bright smile and kind soul, spent weeks in a coma and endured eight long months in the hospital. Today, she is in a minimally conscious state, trapped in a body that cannot express the vibrant spirit we know is still within her. She urgently needs an intensive neurorehabilitation program to reclaim her life—a program that isn’t available in Malta.

We have found a glimmer of hope at Bambino Gesù Hospital in Rome, where specialists can provide the care Amberley desperately needs. However, the six weeks of treatment arranged through Mater Dei Hospital are not enough. Doctors in Italy have been clear: Amberley requires ongoing rehabilitation for a real chance at recovery. The costs of this essential treatment, combined with travel and accommodation expenses, are overwhelming for our family.

I had to leave my job to be by Amberley’s side every step of the way, and while we would give everything for her, we cannot do this alone.
