Art for Healing: A Studio for Children & Brighter Hospital R
Description
Hello, we are a family from Lithuania, and we believe that creativity and a supportive environment can change lives. My wife is a dedicated student of Art Therapy who spends much of her time volunteering with children living in poverty and children with disabilities. Her dream is to provide these children with a safe space to express themselves, heal, and grow.
However, our journey isn't easy. I personally live with recurrent moderate depressive disorder. I know firsthand how heavy the darkness can feel, and I see how my condition affects my wife’s ability to chase her professional dreams and our 5-year-old son’s future. Despite these challenges, we refuse to give up. We want to turn our personal experience into a force for good.
Our Mission: Two Steps Toward LightThis campaign has two clear goals that aim to bring color and peace where they are needed most:
- An Art Therapy Studio: We want to establish a dedicated studio where my wife can work professionally with children. This will be a sanctuary for kids with disabilities and those from disadvantaged backgrounds—a place where art becomes a bridge to emotional freedom and healing.
- Revitalizing Public Hospital Rest Areas: Having spent time navigating the mental healthcare system, I’ve seen how bleak and outdated the rest areas in public hospitals can be. Gray walls do not help people heal. We want to renovate these spaces—painting them in soothing colors, providing comfortable furniture, and creating "calm zones" for patients fighting their own battles with depression and other illnesses.
Your contributions will go directly toward:
- The Studio: Renting a space, purchasing art supplies (paints, canvases, easels), and specialized furniture for children with disabilities.
- Hospital Projects: Buying paint, lighting, and comfortable seating for outdated rest areas in local public hospitals to provide dignity and peace to patients.
- Sustainability: Allowing my wife to balance her studies and volunteer work, ensuring this help reaches those who need it most but can afford it least.
We believe that community is the strongest medicine. Whether it’s €5 or €50, your support helps us prove to our son—and to ourselves—that even in the face of depression, we can build something beautiful for the world.
Thank you for being part of our journey from darkness into color.
