Let me introduce myself: my name is Cyrille and I’m 40 years old. I have a wife, a son and, in a few months’ time, a daughter.

I have an average income and work for a good company.

The reason I’m asking for a fundraiser today is that I’m trying to find a solution to my major financial problem. I’ve got myself into a terribly complicated situation. I’m ashamed of it, and what I’m about to tell you isn’t the most glorious of explanations, but I’d rather be honest with you about why I’m making this request.

It’s been hard for me to admit, but I have a problem with sports betting addiction and I’m trying to get help through therapy.

I’ve lost over €50,000 because of this problem and I’ve had to take out loans to get by, but I can no longer make the repayments. I’m looking for a solution to my problems, which are getting worse by the day. I’m sleeping very poorly; I think about it constantly—it’s like a never-ending vicious circle.

I’m writing to you to ask for a bit of help, and if I’m asking, it’s really because I’ve run out of options. Anything you can give me would be a blessing.

I feel so guilty because I live with my family and I don’t want them to suffer because of my mistakes. I just want to put an end to all this.
