Help Teach AI & Media Literacy in Hungary
Help Teach AI & Media Literacy in Hungary
Description
The problem
“Teenagers in Hungary scroll through deepfakes, fake news and algorithm-boosted extreme content every single day – but school almost never teaches them how to navigate this. Media literacy and AI education are still in their infancy in Hungary, while political and economic actors actively benefit from confusion and low critical thinking.”
What this project does
“I deliver independent, non-partisan, highly practical AI and media literacy lessons in 5 Hungarian schools, once a week. Instead of teaching from a textbook, I use the students’ own TikTok, YouTube and Instagram feeds as starting points to explain manipulation, recommendation algorithms and AI-generated content.”
Why this matters for Europe
“How resilient a 12–16 year-old Hungarian child is against disinformation is not just a local issue – it is a European democratic question. If we lose a generation to propaganda and manipulative AI content, the consequences will cross borders.”
Where your donation goes
“Your support funds preparation and delivery of lessons, travel to schools, visual teaching materials and ongoing cooperation with teachers. The first goal is to secure 2 500–3 000 euros per month, covering weekly classes in 5 schools – and once we go beyond that, I will onboard more schools.”
What you receive as a supporter
“As a supporter you see what happens on the ground: anonymised stories and snapshots from classrooms, showing how students’ questions, thinking patterns and confidence evolve. At higher tiers you also get access to private online Q&A calls and short impact updates from the schools you help.”
