Description
My passion is the hotel industry; I love welcoming guests and creating a comfortable space for them. I believe that sleep is incredibly important and that it’s not easy to get used to a new bed, so my aim is to create a comfortable and welcoming space that makes people want to sleep well and come back to my hotel.
A year ago, I decided to invest in buying a hotel and renovating it. It is located in the city of Reims, a city renowned in particular for its champagne production.
There are 40 rooms, but they are all dilapidated and have insulation issues. The plan is to carry out work to improve energy efficiency (insulating the doors, installing a heat pump for better energy management).
The reception area needs to be refurbished and redesigned, with more contemporary, visually appealing furniture, and a co-working space created…The breakfast area also needs to be refurbished with less outdated furniture; I have planned to purchase colourful benches and refresh this area with a coat of paint in light colours, as well as replacing the lighting (with brighter fixtures, as this is a space that lacks natural light and there aren’t enough large windows…
I also need to create a seminar room to attract corporate groups (in this area, painting is required, certain bay windows need insulating, Japanese-style panel curtains need fitting, and carpet is needed to create a cosy space).
Finally, the outdoor area also requires a complete refurbishment and partitions all around the hotel… fencing would do the trick to clearly separate a smoking area from a non-smoking area, and repaint the 40 façades, the colour of which needs updating.
I estimate the total cost of the work at €100,000
but I would like to raise around €40,000
I am passionate about my work; I care deeply about customer service and their well-being, and especially in a hotel where our duty is to recreate a ‘home-from-home’ sleeping environment, comfort is essential! So is service.
I love my job, but unfortunately I lack the funds. The banks have already lent me money for the electrical work, which needed a complete overhaul. I’m aware it’s a lot of work, but I’m not going to give up and I’m highly motivated. If you’re able to help me, I’d be infinitely grateful, and you’re invited to come and stay and try out the hotel whenever you like! I thank all participants in advance. I’m keeping my fingers crossed and hope my project will move forward. Thank you again to all contributors who have taken the time to read my project.
