The Mission

Romania currently lacks adequate public services for adults with autism and neuropsychiatric conditions. This project addresses the most severe fear of aging parents: "What will happen to my child when I am gone?" By creating a specialized residential center, we provide a permanent, dignified home for those who have lost their family support system.

A New Model of Care

Inspired by successful residential social farms in the Netherlands, this facility is the first of its kind in Romania. It moves away from traditional institutions by offering:

• Individual Living: Residence in private studios with 24/7 specialized monitoring.

• Integrated Employment: Jobs within a protected workshop system or placement with local businesses.

• Community Therapy: A day center providing speech, behavioral, and physical therapy for residents and local children, eliminating the need to travel to Brașov.

Progress & Sustainability

The building has already been rehabilitated externally (waterproofing, windows, and fencing) with support from the Globe Aware Foundation. Interior works, including demolition and initial partitioning, have begun through the Brașov Heroes Program. Once operational, the center’s expenses will be sustained by national cost standards and local budgets (H.G. 426/2020), ensuring long-term stability.

The Current Need

To complete the residential center, the total estimated investment required is 3,189,571 RON (approx. 678,632 EUR). This total includes VAT and covers the following main project stages:

• Construction, Installations & Equipment: 2,198,620 RON (approx. $467,791 EUR) - covers the core interior construction, partitioning of the studios, utilities, elevators, and initial furnishings.

• Design & Technical Assistance: 147,798 RON (approx. $31,446 EUR) - covers engineering, project management, and site inspection to ensure safety standards.

• Site Organization, Taxes & Diverse Expenses: 169,937 RON (approx. $36,156 EUR)

• Budget Margin & Price Adjustments: 704,260 RON (approx. $149,842 EUR) - a necessary buffer to protect the project's completion against ongoing economic and material cost fluctuations.
