🔥 Help us to help others! – Let’s support the volunteer firefighters of Csáfordjánosfa!

Csáfordjánosfa is a quiet little village of barely two hundred people on the edge of Győr-Moson-Sopron County. Though we are small, our hearts are huge: we, the members of the Csáfordjánosfa Village Volunteer Fire Brigade, protect our village and the surrounding settlements voluntarily, sacrificing our free time and without remuneration. When the siren sounds, we don’t hesitate: we leave our family lunch and our work behind and set off immediately, whether there is a fire, storm damage, or someone in trouble who needs helping.

In a small village like this, however, we have to work hard for every single forint. We raise most of the funds needed to run our operations through grants, and the local council also supports us as best it can within its own limited means. But we do not sit idly by either: to generate extra income and keep the association going, we volunteer firefighters carry out grass-cutting and maintenance work in the village’s public areas in our spare time. We reinvest all this money back into protecting the community. However, sheer goodwill, manual labour and our modest budget are unfortunately not enough to combat fire and the elements when it comes to more substantial developments.

We are currently facing two enormous tasks for which our own modest resources are proving completely inadequate:

1. Modernising our protective equipment: In order to save the lives and property of others – and, at the end of the day, to return home safely to our families ourselves – our protective equipment must be in perfect condition. Some of our current operational uniforms, helmets and technical equipment are outdated and worn out.

2. Refurbishment of the fire station: Our station is the heart of the association; this is where we store our vehicle and life-saving equipment. To ensure that our equipment is not damaged and that our vehicles can be started immediately even in the winter frost, we urgently need to renovate and modernise the equipment store building.

The aim of our campaign:

To use the donations collected to directly purchase new protective gear, boots and the modern hand tools essential for technical rescue, as well as to fund the most important renovation work on the fire station.

For the volunteers of a small village, every little bit of help represents another step towards safety. Every single forint goes directly to serving the community. Support the heroes of Csáfordjánosfa, because in an emergency, every second, every piece of good equipment and every well-meaning person counts!
