Description
Have you ever come across someone on the street behaving strangely, in a way that seems out of the ordinary, and thought they were just being rude? No, you’re wrong; they aren’t rude, they aren’t strange – they are autistic. Autism is a condition that makes their perception of the world different from ours, a world that, for them, moves too fast and causes them distress. You see, these special people are forgotten by the authorities when they reach adulthood, putting the families of these special young people in a difficult position, because yes, the problem isn’t just for the disabled person but affects the whole family, who have no short-term solutions. We need to set up centres with specialist staff to ensure that these special young people achieve as much independence as possible for their future and, through specific therapies, help them come to terms with the ‘world’ so that their lives can be more than happy; and in doing so, their families will also benefit. We are asking for a small contribution to ensure that, brick by brick, this project becomes a reality – a project whose motto is ‘never alone again’.
