The Foyer Lucie is an SRG (general residential service) located in Verviers. We take in 30 children and adolescents who have been removed from their home environment, aged between 3 and 18, and divided into two units of 15 young people: les racines and les ailes.

The children and teenagers placed in the SRG are there on the basis of a mandate from the SAJ or SPJ for various and varied reasons, but very often because of dangerous situations within their families.

The educators do their best, on a daily basis, to welcome, supervise and care for the children entrusted to them. For some, the SRG is their home, their family, their landmarks. Although the aim for some is to be able to return to their family environment, for many, the placement will last until they are 18, at which time their educators will have given them "autonomy" so that they can manage on their own when they reach the age of majority.

Our groups have just entered a competition to win tickets for a day trip to DISNEYLAND PARIS! What an opportunity for these children to be able to dream too, to go to Mickey Mouse Land, to meet their favourite cartoon characters, to meet the princesses whose dresses the little girls regularly collect and wear in fancy dress!

Motivated and invested, our young and old created a masterpiece in the hope of being among the lucky winners... our group of teenagers (the wings) had the great good fortune to win tickets! It's great for them, but ... our little ones will be disappointed to know that their elders will be going and they won't... even if that's the principle of a competition.

So for our group of youngsters (aged 5 to 12), we'd like to be able to offer them this opportunity too. We want to see the stars in their eyes, to experience a magical, fairytale day and to be able to forget their worries for a day, which are already so heavy on their little shoulders. To be able to tell their school friends that they too are doing great things, even though they live in a home... and to build positive, unforgettable memories!
