Description
Roma.Ice, a five-year-old wonder betrayed by those who were supposed to love him forever – but ‘forever’ doesn’t exist if you contract leishmaniasis. And it matters little that when you were adopted you were perfectly healthy, sweet as can be, and well-socialised. They simplygrew tired of you .Then an epileptic fit, caused by the neglect of your leishmaniasis treatment, sealed the end of it all! After four years in a home, you were dumped in a kennel, admitted under sedation, and labelled ‘dangerous’. You woke up inside a cage. And you had nothing left. You lost everything, even who you were… And who you are no longer! I took you away from that hell, put you in paid foster care, but it wasn’t working. You need company, cuddles, love. Not a kennel where you spent your days practically alone. Now you’re at a volunteer’s home who, despite the countless difficulties she’s facing, is making you feel at home again! But from your first foster home you ‘inherited’ three burrs that had penetrated your skin and then migrated internally…and which, despite specific tests and two operations to locate them and to neuter you (costs borne by us), were not detected... months of antibiotics, anti-inflammatories... but the wound wouldn’t heal, because the infection was internal... not external! And on 13/03/2025, Ice had to undergo another operation, this time, however...successful. They were found and removed! Now comes the post-operative period, and a bill of over 500 euros to pay, on top of all the expenses incurred from September 2024 to the present day... antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, drainage treatments... and, of course, the usual medication for his conditions...We can no longer afford all this... we need help... don’t leave us on our own... Ice needs training; he is reactive towards other dogs and people. His time in the kennel and not having been socialised by his former ‘family’ have left deep scars... and so it isn’t easy to find him a home... obviously1
Until Ice finds his forever home, we will be with him... always. Please help us not to let him down... because doing this all on our own is really difficult!!!! Every single receipt and proof of expenditure will be provided...
