Description
Dear friends, nature lovers, animal lovers...
I am a member of the ‘No Wind Turbines in the Forest’ campaign group, and for a good two years now we have been fighting in vain against the approval of five wind turbines. On 16 December 2025, a planning permission was granted, despite various significant restrictions that will lead to conditions being imposed and the turbines being taken offline.
But this hasn’t stopped me from continuing the fight. I have lodged an appeal. As a local resident affected by the project, but also as a volunteer – a wildlife warden, a breeding bird surveyor, an owl monitor – and a member of the local organisation Kitzrettung Hohenbruch e.V. In other words, I have been deeply involved in species conservation over the last three years and have lost my heart to the cause. However, alongside species conservation, other issues are also very important. I don’t want to list them all, but they include, amongst other things, our drinking water. Two wind turbines are set to be built in our water protection area.
Approval for the wind turbines is always subject to the overriding public interest imposed on us by the Habeck Act, so this takes precedence over everything else.
Allegedly.
Even above our drinking water?
Which am I more likely to survive on?
With water or with electricity?
I believe 100 per cent of the population has an interest in ensuring that clean water is available. Far fewer people actually need this particular electricity to survive.
My reasoning is that the former outweighs the latter by a vast margin.
So drinking water protection zones are an absolute no-go area.
The same applies to food.
Who wants to eat contaminated food?
Our greatest asset (nothing is more important) is our life and our health!!!!!
And whilst I’m at it, I’d like to give a voice to nature and animals.
They’ll dismiss my objection; they’ve already lied and they’ve destroyed a nest.
So, on behalf of the IG, I intend to take legal action against the installation of wind turbines in the forest. So that a court will take a closer look. According to our solicitor, our chances aren’t actually that bad. ....
With your help and that of my fellow campaigners.
We have a good lawyer who is willing and able to fight for us.
And we have an environmental organisation on our side that’s authorised to bring legal action.
I myself am not allowed to take legal action on matters of species protection, etc.
So please listen to your hearts and see what you can give so that I can
.
Every euro counts. Everyone should give what they can and how they feel moved by my appeal.
I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to every single person who does not look the other way, but supports our fight against injustice.
For nature, for the creatures that inhabit it, for our health and for our future.
My future is not guided by the vast amounts of electricity that we increasingly ‘need’ today, but by my environment, how we treat it and how we treat one another.
We could exist without electricity, but not without water, bread and empathy.
Thank you, thank you, thank you ❤️
(You do know about karma, don’t you? That’s how it always goes.)
